Book of ideas by Radim Malinic
'a book of stories, musings, thoughts and observations'
About the book
Book of Ideas is just that: an outpouring of what one creative director and designer, Radim Malinic, has discovered from many years working in the strange and endlessly fascinating world of the creative industry. Sharing advice on everything from inspiration to inbox control, facing your fears, finding happiness in your work, the art of self-promotion and beating creative block, it’s illustrated with some of its author’s most important and resonant projects.
Radim is based in London and takes a multidisciplinary approach, working across art/creative direction, digital illustration, typography and music video direction to form a practice based around positivity, message and meaning. Book of Ideas is the product of what he’s learned both when starting out in the industry and in the ten years since he decided to go it alone and embrace freelance life.
Say 'yes' to learn and progress
“I got to become a creative director by saying yes to pretty much everything I thought I could either learn from or do a good job at. I’m curious about everything,” he says. “I got to a point in my career where I found myself needing one more thing - a reason. This collection of my work has been chosen from the last four years of searching for purpose and reasons.”
The work we’re presented with showcases projects from big-name branding projects to personal, experimental pieces, demonstrating a breadth of strategic approaches and working methods. They will hopefully provide inspiration and underpin the book’s ideas that anything can be achieved with fearlessness, hard work and the right attitude towards design, designers and clients.
